EASTER TABLE INSPIRATION #3 | #valetutto Souvenir Table

I have to admit: Easter Table Style n.3 is MY FAVOURITE! When I started, I thought I could never top Style #1 (see here) but I am actually 100% crazy enthusiastic about this setting, I love everything about it! Probably because, well, it has a little bit of everything in it :)

Inspired by Funky Table and Bitossi Home’s La Tavola Scomposta and the maximalist trend of Corian Cabana Club at 2017 Milan Design Week (I’ll post pictures soon, I promise), I adopted the #valetutto approach, which translates “everything goes”. Sometimes it feels good to break the rules and just let design and styling be a play. Mix different styles, patterns, colours, whatever as long as you like it. It’s your home, your table, after all.

How to recreate the #valetutto Souvenir Table? First, go BIG on the flowers, fake ones or real ones. Either splurge for once with the real ones (or collect them from kind neighbouring gardens – ask for permission!) or buy fake flowers over time (they are darn expensive) and you’ll see you’ve built up a handy collection when it comes to make eye-catching compositions like this one.

Or, if you want, leave the flowers, they are not the focal point in the table setting, although they do bring a lot of colour. Instead of doing a big composition you could put just one or two flowers on the guests’ napkins with a little tag, as placecards.

I had two pink vases (one is actually a beer bottle spray painted pink) and too many flowers to fit. The thing is we don’t EVER buy vases in our home. I think we own three in total. But I do save lots of milk/juice/whatever bottles (#hoarder or #smartcrafter?). I didn’t like the pink + clear glass pairing, so I made do with some pink planters from IKEA. Ta-da! Colour coherence maintained and I like that they are all different sizes. Spruce them up with colourful pom-poms and tassels.

For this table, dig out your souvenir plates. If you have ever had a friend who went to Spain or Portugal or Greece you have surely been gifted some handpainted ceramics (bowls, coasters, trays, tiles anyone?). If you don’t own any, it’s a good reason to start collecting them during the next Summer holidays ;) Another good option is to hit thrift stores, vintage markets, or to just ask your granparents, oftentimes they have real treasures!

You’ll also need some solid colour plates (enter my pink plates again! and some green ones). Don’t try too hard, but it would be a good thing to pair the souvenir plates with some colour-matching solid ones. Tie your cutlery together with pom poms and tassels.

The colours of these napkins are to die for! All old ones from my granparents.

I am crazy for all these colours, and I think it’s a super festive table. What do you say? This is the final style suggestion for Easter, I wish you a good one, filled with chocolate eggs and happy moments with your family and loved ones!

I’ll be back soon here on the blog (lots of inspiration from Milan Design Week)!!

Tavola pronta! Facile, no? Mixate colori, pattern e stili – souvenirs dal Trentino! Portogallo! Sardegna!
